WassuP with Mah Life?

Let me do a recap of what happened last month, ok?

Like what I've posted in my previous blog, I'm out of TeleTech since May 31st after they gave us a redundancy program since (as what they said) the Sprint account for WLNP was overstaffed. It was also stated in the contract that they'd be giving us separation pay on June 15th. Hm...

We really feel bad knowing the fact that we've already exerted effort to do well on the floor and established good memories with our friends and teammates in TeleTech. For me, I've already planned my way up in TTech from a CSR to an ACE Trainer or even a Product Trainer. But things changes on the first week of May, when they presented to us a sheet of paper saying that our stay with the company would end on the 31st. It's good that they're giving us sep pay but the goals we've planned to achieve were suddenly wasted.

On May 24 (Manila time), I went to office for my 2am shift not knowing that it would be my last day as a CSR. My co-trainees were spreading the news that we could already file a leave of absence without pay from May 25 to May 31 and that our TLs would approve it right away. You couldn't blame us; knowing the fact that they were retrenching us, we had no enthusiasm taking in calls! I messed up my calls too! :) After filling up the form, I informed Fher about it. Because of that, he changed his scheduled leave of absence before submitting it to his TL. Janice also followed. Most of us filed a leave of absence with a lot of reasons to tell and a lot of excuses as well. Well... ayaw na naming mag-call ei! :D Haha!

After that day, I spent my days at home - sleeping, surfing the net, watching TV/DVD and alike. In short, I just chill-lazed while waiting for our sep pay! :D

A week later, Fher and I went to Makati and submitted our resumes to other call centers. I became depressed knowing that I was unemployed and that I had spent my salary for food and some stuff I wanted (for entertainment purposes). Day by day, I was checking for money in my wallet and I've been withdrawing some cash to spend as I scout for a job! One afternoon, I was surfing the net when I submitted my resume to ePacific Global Contact Center at JobsDB.com. The position I applied for was for Web Designer. After few days, they called me up for an initial interview. After the second interview, I didn't receive any call from them.

Then I had a scheduled interview for a call center in Ortigas when ePacific called me up asking for another interview. One day, they were already hiring me.

I couldn't understand myself. I'm happy that I have a job offered and that they're already hiring me. But I still have this thing in me - the disappointment of being retrenched from TTech. I just had a dream in TTech. Nothing's wrong with 'em in the start until they gave us the redundancy program.

A couple of nights ago, I found a quote I saved on my phone a long time ago.

"Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore." -- Andre Gide

I paused for a while and agreed to it.

Check out the pictures at http://raimonet.multiply.com/ that tell a story of my stay in Teletech. More to come - bigger and better. Thank you all! ¿?
